Meet Sarah
Sarah Ratermann Beahan is a writer, teacher and creative mystic. Her work is equal parts telling stories, asking big questions, examining seemingly small moments and creating space for others to do the same. She believes writing is a healing tool and can transform our lives. Sarah has a BA in English/Creative Writing from Webster University, a MS in rural sociology and community development from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MFA in creative writing from Goddard College. She is currently a MA Counseling Candidate at Adler Graduate School, with a focus on narrative exposure therapy and trauma-informed care.
In the midst of the global pandemic, Sarah founded Bewonderment, an online portal of sacred tools for deep personal expansion, including workshops and retreats on writing and healing, creativity, tarot, mindfulness and earth medicine. She served two terms as Writer-in-Residence at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts and is on the Board of Directors for the East Central Regional Arts Council. She is the recipient of a Minnesota State Arts Board grant to support her research and writing on the topic of creativity and wellness. She has led retreats from the banks of the Missouri River in Central Missouri as well as a riad in the bustling center of Fez, Morocco, workshops in cancer hospitals, homeless centers and elementary school classrooms and coaches clients virtually from her home in East Central Minnesota.
